The ATIM Resource Library provides access to methodology, governance, classification, analytical, and supporting resources used within the Aggregated Trade Intelligence Model (ATIM) framework.
Core Framework Resources
The following resources define the methodology, governance principles, analytical standards, classification structures, and supporting reference frameworks used within the ATIM framework.
ATIM Methodology & Governance Framework
Defines the core methodology, analytical principles, governance framework, classification approach, opportunity-identification methodology, and reporting standards used within the ATIM (Aggregated Trade Intelligence Model) framework. This resource provides the foundation for ATIM reports, analytical outputs, classification resources, supporting reference materials, and future dashboard implementations.
The Next Tab, Classification & Alignment Resources, introduces the reference resources that connect products, services, sectors and industries across different international classification systems, supporting the practical application of ATIM trade intelligence.
Classification and alignment resources are available on request to support trade-intelligence analysis, sector review, opportunity identification and trade-development activities.
Available Reference Resources
In addition to classification mappings, ATIM incorporates a governed use-case framework that helps interpret how products, services, sectors, institutions, and commercial ecosystems relate to practical trade-development activities.
Defines the governed classification and use-case framework supporting ATIM analysis, sector interpretation, operational alignment, and trade-development activities.
Purpose
This appendix defines the governed classification and use-case framework supporting ATIM merchandise and services analysis, sector interpretation, and trade-development activities.
Operational Use-Case Framework
Operational use-case structures support interpretation of how trade, sector, services, institutional, and ecosystem relationships connect to practical trade-development activities.
Examples include:
Governed Reference Structures
Detailed classification mappings, sector-reference structures, use-case frameworks, and alignment datasets are maintained separately as governed reference datasets.
This approach supports:
ATIM Governance
Classification structures, mappings, and use-case frameworks are intended to support structural interpretation, operational alignment, and trade-development activities. They should not be interpreted as deterministic indicators of commercial success, competitiveness, or market-entry viability.
The Next Tab, Data Sources & Reference Resources, describes the principal reference datasets and supporting information resources used within the ATIM framework.
Data Sources & Reference Resources identify the principal international trade, economic, industrial, institutional, and supporting resources used within the ATIM framework. These resources support trade-intelligence analysis, sector and market review, economic interpretation, trade-development activities, and international commercial engagement.
Comtrade: The United Nations Comtrade database aggregates detailed global annual and monthly trade statistics by product and trading partner for use by governments, academia, research institutes, and enterprises. Data compiled by the United Nations Statistics Division covers approximately 200 countries and represents more than 99% of the world's merchandise trade.
International Trade Centre’s TradeMap: A joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, dedicated to helping small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries become more competitive.
ITC Trade Map API: Structured API access to Trade Map trade datasets for integration into ATIM analytical processes.
International Trade in Services Statistics
International trade-in-services datasets based on the IMF Balance of Payments Manual (BPM6) framework support ATIM services-trade analysis. These datasets provide structured information on international trade in services across a range of service sectors and categories.
This information supports the generation of ATIM Services Trade Reports and related analytical outputs.
UNIDO: UNIDO is a specialized United Nations agency with a unique mandate to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
World Bank: An international financial institution that provides loans, grants, and technical assistance to developing countries, with the primary goals of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity.
ExportersAlmanac: A TradeTech Solutions resource providing structured country, economic, trade, commercial, and market-reference information designed to support international trade research, market evaluation, and export-development activities.
ATIM is designed to operate within a governed evidence environment incorporating multiple complementary evidence sources. Future implementations may incorporate additional datasets as they become available.
The Next Tab, Trade Flow Tables, introduces the principal trade-flow datasets and statistical reference tables used throughout the ATIM framework to support merchandise and services trade analysis, benchmarking, and report generation.
Trade Flow Tables provide structured international trade datasets supporting global, country, product-sector, and trade-flow analysis.
These resources support ATIM reports, dashboards, benchmarking, trade analysis, market evaluation, opportunity identification, and report generation.
The tables are organised under Merchandise Trade Data, Services Trade Data, Global Data, Country Data, and Product & Sector Data to support benchmarking, market evaluation, sector review, opportunity identification, and report generation.
Additional trade-corridor and bilateral trade datasets may be provided separately where available.
Global Data
Global Data provides international trade-flow references covering worldwide trade activity by country and product sector.
These resources support benchmarking, market concentration review, growth analysis, and international trade comparisons.
Country Data
Country Data provides access to country-level trade, economic, market, and reference datasets used within the ATIM framework.
Resources are organised by country and support country reviews, market assessment, trade-development activities, and report generation.
Product & Sector Data
Product & Sector Data provides trade-flow references relating to specific HS2 product sectors.
These resources support sector review, market evaluation, growth analysis, and opportunity identification.
